Now, Exactly What am I Getting Myself Into?

When you decide to go on vacation, you get so excited that you tend to forget all the shit you need to do before hand to make the vacation happen. Buying tickets, taking off work, packing packing packing, all that not-quite-so-fun stuff.

So I decided to do a little more than a vacation; I decided to live and study in Buenos Aires, Argentina for four months, from the beginning of March to the end of June. So the shit is multiplied by like...a bajillion. I need a life jacket to keep me afloat of all the paperwork coming my way.

Don't let the pessimism lead you astray; I'm really excited for going to Argentina. For some reason, I've been interested in the nation for quite some time. No clue really why I selected Argentina to be the focus of my attention, versus all the other countries out there. Maybe it has something to do with Madonna?

And after all the classes I've taken on Argentina, my love for a place I've never been to has only grown more. But it's more than that. It's kind of...a gut feeling that this is where I need to be, at least for a little while.

After a lot of studying, reading, and begging of the parents (I had to create a 20-page pamphlet and presentation to convince them to let me go. Dead serious.) I'm definitely ready to stretch my wings and make the dream happen.

But if I have to fill out one more paper for financial aid, I will seriously make a pile of FAFSA forms and set it on fire in front of the campus bursar's office. I have the feeling there are a lot of students out there what would be more than happy to join me on that one.

So read, learn, and laugh at my expense!
